Description
A live recording of a concert given March 15, 1975 by the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Oakland Symphony Chorus, conducted by Joseph Liebling. This concert was held at the Paramount Theater in Oakland California and included pieces by Strauss, Brahms, Berlioz, and Milhaud. The Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra was founded in 1964 as part of an educational outreach program by the Oakland Symphony. It is composed of young musicians from a number of San Francisco Bay Area schools, many from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and has toured Europe and won several international competitions.
