Description
Robert Sheff (a.k.a. Blue Gene Tyranny) discusses his career as a composer, performer, and recording artist; his early activities growing up in Texas; his involvement with the ONCE Festivals in Ann Arbor; and his work at the Mills College Center for New Music. Some of Sheff's works played and discussed on the program include “Black Forest Trading Post”, and “Country Boy, Country Dog”. The latter is a remarkable composition and "process piece" that was commissioned by fellow composer David Behrman, then a producer for Columbia Records. Columbia later declined to issue the recording.
