Description
Composer-performers Barton and Priscilla McLean of Austin Texas are Charles Amirkhanian’s guests on this edition of Ode to Gravity. This husband and wife duo introduce a number of their primarily electro-acoustic pieces. Their work often has an environmental or political dimension, as is the case with “The Last Ten Minutes,” which envisions a nuclear holocaust, and “Beneath the Horizon III” which combines whale songs with a tuba solo to create an evocative sense of longing.
