Description
John Schneider demonstrating his guitar playing, taken during either his retreat at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program or a backstage rehearsal, prior to the 14th Other Minds Festival in March of 2009. John Schneider is perhaps best known for his work with alternate tuning systems and frequently performs on an assortment of well-tempered, re-fretted, and adapted guitars. A composer, author, and educator, as well as an accomplished guitarist, Schneider was at this time a professor at Pierce College in Los Angeles and music director of the Just Strings ensemble which specializes in works with alternate tunings.
