Description
Pianist Klaus Billing, a West German virtuoso specializing in the 20th Century repertoire, visited the KPFA studio on November 5, 1984, for this live recital. Billing plays a selection of Sonatinas by Ferruccio Busoni as well as George Antheil’s “Airplane Sonata,” and the “Etude Sur le Catte Magique Sonore, Op. 40” by Ivan Wyschnegradsky. Mr. Billing also briefly discusses each piece with program host Charles Amirkhanian, who, along with a select group of KPFA staffers, is clearly relishing this opportunity to hear an exclusive recital by one of the great interpreters of modern piano music.
