Description
This program features a number of pieces of minimal or drone music by La Monte Young. Some of these works with such cryptic titles as “23 VIII 64 2:50:45-3:11AM, the volga delta” may be played at various speeds, as demonstrated in this program. Described as some of the most difficult music played on KPFA, Young’s music effectively combines the spirituality of the East with Western intellectual and technical interests. These performances are by La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela. (from KPFA Folio)
