Description

Raksin was an American composer who is best known for his countless Hollywood movie soundtracks, most of which were composed in the 1940s ad 50s. He began his film career as an assistant to Charlie Chaplin, working on the score of “Modern Times” in 1934. He continued to work in Hollywood producing soundtracks for such movies as “The Bad and the Beautiful,” “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” and “Laura,” the theme to which Johnny Mercer added lyrics, eventually becoming one of the most recorded songs in history.
