Richard Teitelbaum is and American composer and musician who has studied with Allen Forte and Mel Powell as well as the Italian composers Luigi Nono and Goffredo Petrassi. While in Italy he joined with Alvin Curran and Frederic Rzewski in founding the pioneering electronic music ensemble Musica Elettronica Viva or MEV. It is for his work with electronic and synthesizer music that he is best known although he has also incorporated Japanese, Indian, and other world music into his compositions.Genres & Subjects
