Description
From a program recorded on December 18, 1981, Charles Amirkhanian interviews composer Janice Giteck about her career and a then, upcoming concert with the San Francisco Symphony. Ms. Giteck began her career as a Bay Area composer and teacher at the University of California at Berkeley, and later became a member of the faculty at the Cornish Institute of the Arts in Seattle, WA., In December 1981 she was back in the Bay Area for the world premiere of her orchestral work “Tree”, which was to be played by members of the San Francisco Symphony under the direction of Edo de Waart as part of the Symphony’s New and Unusual Music series.
