As part of Other Minds' Semicentenary Celebration of Fluxus, a special edition of Music From Other Minds was broadcast on KALW (91.7 San Francisco), Friday,฀September฀16,฀2011,฀at 11:00฀PM.

Host Charles฀Amirkhanian฀introduces฀an฀unusual฀audio฀document:฀"Abschiedssymphonie,฀Op.฀177",฀
by฀the฀Danish฀Fluxus฀composer฀and฀visual฀artist฀Henning฀Christiansen฀(1932-2008).฀
During฀the฀44-minute฀composition฀you฀will฀hear฀Nam June Paik฀playing฀Chopin฀and฀other฀classically-based฀phrases.฀He฀also฀played฀on฀the฀violin฀and฀projected฀parts฀of฀the฀Tokyo฀Concert฀“Coyote฀II”฀by Paik฀and฀Joseph Beuys.฀The฀rougher฀sounds–beating฀and฀knocking฀the฀piano,฀and฀roaring,฀clapping,฀
whipping,฀bell฀sounds,฀and฀electronics฀are฀from฀Christiansen.

The Something Else: A Fluxus Semicentenary, Concert Program contains additional notes on the development of this composition and the artists involved.

At the end of the program, an excerpt of a live performance of Christiansen's "Den Arkadiske" is played. Recorded at Other Minds' first New Music Séance event, Kate Stenberg plays violin, and Eva-Maria Zimmermann, piano.
