Description
April 11, 1985 marked the 70th anniversary of the Ottoman’s massacre of Armenians, an event that had not yet been acknowledged in official international forums, in contrast to the tragedy of the Jewish Holocaust, and of which it is still illegal to even discuss in modern Turkey. In this program Charles Amirkhanian talks with Jack Zakarian who spent many years researching the events of 1915 as well as the previous massacres dating back as far as 1895. A selection of traditional Armenian music is also heard.
