Description
A concert recorded at the Art Institute in San Francisco on March 30, 1979, which presented contemporary waltzes, most of which were included in a collection published by C. F. Peters, and released on a 1981 Nonsuch recording entitled “The Waltz Project.” This concert features John Cobb, Robert Moran, and Tom Constanten performing waltzes by Virgil Thomson, Joseph Fennimore, Milton Babbitt, Richard Felciano, John Cage, Ivan Tcherepnin, and other well known as well as some relatively obscure composers. Prior to the start of the concert Cobb and Moran describe the fortuitous events that led to their collaboration, as well as peppering the concert with various remarks about individual pieces.Genres
