Description
From November 12, 1962, a recording of a Noon Concert from the campus of the University of California in Berkeley. Bethany Beardslee is heard in the first West Coast performance of Milton Babbitt’s “Vision and Prayer” for soprano and electronic synthesizer. She is also joined by pianist Robert Helps in three songs by Johannes Brahms, Anton Webern, and Alban Berg. The concert begins with Helps performing Mendelssohn’s Sonata in E Major, and Babbitt’s “Partions for Piano”.
