Description
Peter Michael Hamel is a young German composer working outside the realm of traditional Central European avant-garde music. His “Dharana”, for solo group, orchestra and tape, was played at the 1973 Donaueschingen Music Festival, under the direction of Ernest Bour, and a recording of it is heard here. Also included in this 1973 program are some selections from Hamel’s solo album of electronic meditation music, as well as a personal visit with the composer, recorded in Donaueschingen.
