Description
A selection of French Canadian reels and rags, performed by Louis Beaudoin’s on fiddle with additional instrumental accompaniment. Beaudoin was the scion of a musical family, his father having played the fiddle at local weddings and parties in their French Canadian community in Lowell, MA. Having learned the instrument from his father at an early age, Beaudoin was soon entertaining audiences and became a founding member of the Northeast Fiddlers’ Association in 1966. In these recording’s he is joined by his brother Wilfred on guitar, and his daughter Sylvia on piano, while Louis himself accompanies his own fiddling with complicated “clogging” or tapping of his feet.Genres
