Description
Leon Stein: Three Hassidic Dances

Thor Johnson: The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra DUB FROM REMINGTON RECORD R-199-185

The composer wrote about this work: “From about 1930 I developed an interest in and made an intensive study of Jewish music. The ecstatic and mystic aspects of Hassidism and its association with a musical symbolism particularly attracted me. These dances, composed in 1940 and 1941 were an outgrowth of this interest and study.”
