Description
A modern Japanese Nō drama with electronic music background, performed in Japanese. [Possibly “The Lady Aoi” or “Aoi-no-Ue”] Born in 1929, Toshiro Mayuzumi was a Japanese composer with an early interest in avant-garde European music, particular that of Edgard Varèse. He later became enthusiastic about Asian instrumentation and wrote a number of operas and ballets on Japanese themes. Mayuzumi is also known for his many cinematic soundtracks, his many pieces for wind band, and his early experimentation's with electronic music in the 1950s.
