In this short unedited interview for KPFA-FM, Charles Amirkhanian talks with American composer Lou Harrison at his home in Aptos, California. They discuss the benefits of composers talking with one another, methods of creating work in just intonation, and reasons for mixing Eastern and Western instruments in Harrison’s work. Amirkhanian also explains the philosophy behind creating the Composer to Composer festival and the sequence of events Lou can expect as a participant.
