Description
Charles Amirkhanian interviews Hungarian born composer Tamas Ungvary about his work with electronic music. Ungvary who’s early musical experience was as a double bassist and conductor, first became aware of the possibilities of using computers to generate music when he heard about the electronic music studio at Stanford University from another Hungarian composer. In 1970 he moved to Sweden where he eventually became director of the Electro-acoustic Music Foundation in Sweden. In this program he discusses the processes by which he composes and introduces two of his works for the electronic medium.
