Description
A program of avant-garde sound poetry and music by Charles Amirkhanian and Anthony Gnazzo, featuring a collection of their compositions. Interspersed among the formal pieces are bits of sound collage, music, and Gnazzo's commentary on his career retrospective slide show. Also in this program Tony Gnazzo, who had recently announced his retirement from composing avant-garde music, and who had not been seen at a concert of new music for over fourteen months, presents his seminar on retirement for losers in the arts, during which listeners called in with their questions and comments. In addition Charles Amirkhanian presents an experimental music flashback featuring the March 23, 1970 Radio Event No. 7 produced by Gnazzo ("Junk and all that Jazz") that included live nude performers in the KPFA studio.
