Description

One of several interviews with Ron Williams made by Charles Amirkhanian in 1972 in preparation for a KPFA program entitled “You Must Wear Earphones.” Williams had designed a model of a human head with two microphones carefully placed inside the fleshy ears. The purpose was to record sounds exactly as humans hear them, including any spatial components. The two discuss this recording technique as well as several pieces of music and ambient recordings made by Williams.
