Åke Parmerud shows off his fancy dress shoes, which he wore for one of his appearances at the 2008 Other Minds Music Festival (OM13).Swedish composer Åke Parmerud was born in 1953, and has been composing since his early twenties. Educated at the Gothenburg Music Conservatory, Parmerud has written for multi-media, video, film, dance,and the theater, as well as more typical instrumental ensembles. However he is perhaps best known for his electro-acoustic compositions which have won numerous festival prizes and been recorded for a variety of labels. A member of the Royal Academy of Music since 1998, Parmerud is also a teacher of composition and computer music.
