Description
An image of the set design for Amelia Cuni’s and Werner Durand’s multimedia work “Ashtayama’ which was performed at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, during the 10th Other Minds Music Festival, in March of 2004. Created by lighting and stage designer Uli Sigg, this image captures a sample of the various images and lighting effects that were projected upon the stage curtains throughout the performance. The raga-based “Ashtayama” was an audio-visual mediation that was beautifully pure in its austerity and clarity of purpose. The work embodied an Eastern idea of time, and the power of musical language to elicit an emotional response.
