Hanna Kulenty, Charles Amirkhanian, and Nicole Paiement (l to r), seated in the auditorium at the Yerba Buena Center of the Arts, during a rehearsal, prior to the 10th Other Minds Music Festival in San Francisco in March of 2004. Kulenty is a Polish composer known for her early energetic and intricate orchestral works, as well as her later, more minimalist compositions for chamber ensembles. Charles Amirkhanian is the Executive and Artistic Director of Other Minds. Nicole Paiement is the Artistic Director of the California Parallèle Ensemble, and was the conductor for Kulenty’s “Flute Concerto No. 1” which received its U. S. premiere at OM 10.Genres & Subjects
