Description
Uli Sigg, Amelia Cuni & Werner Durand in conversation during their participation in the 10th Other Minds Music Festival, in March of 2004. Sigg is a lighting and set designer who aided composer Durand and singer Cuni is creating the multi-media performance art piece “Ashtayama: Song of Hours,” which received its U. S. premiere at OM 10. The raga-based “Ashtayama” was an audio-visual mediation that was beautifully pure in its austerity and clarity of purpose. The work embodied an Eastern idea of time, and the power of musical language to elicit an emotional response.
