OM14: Fago B&W PrintsDescription
Charles Amirkhanian looks on as Chinary Ung, seated at the head of a conference table with a mic in front of him, gives his presentation during the composer’s retreat at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Woodside CA, prior to the start of OM 14 in March 2009. Born in Cambodia in 1942, Ung moved to the United States in 1964 where he studied clarinet and composition music at Columbia University. His many works are often marked by the incorporation of traditional Cambodian elements combined with more typical Western orchestral instrumentation.Genres & Subjects
