Description
Gianna Abondolo, is seated before a music stand playing the cello. Behind her and to the left is a man sitting down, watching and listening. In front and to the right is Catherine Lamb whose head is turned away from the camera, as she looks back at Abondolo, while holding an electronic tuner her hands. Lamb’s composition “Dilations” received its world premiere at OM 14, and featured an ensemble that included Abondolo on cello. This photograph was taken either at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Woodside CA, or at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco. Abondolo is a graduate of Juilliard, a former member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, and faculty member at Mills College in Oakland California. She has performed as a soloist and in many chamber ensembles, and is also skilled improviser and composer.
