Description
Carla Kilhstedt is seen playing the violin in the dressing room of the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco, prior to the start of a concert of the 15th Other Minds Music Festival in March 2010.

Kilhstedt, born in 1971, is a talented violinist and composer, who is as comfortable performing in nightclubs with a variety of art-rock bands, as she is upon a concert hall stage interpreting contemporary classical compositions. She is a member of a number of widely variable ensembles and bands, including 2 Foot Yard, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and Tin Hat. Kihlstedt has written for theater and dance, as well as having numerous works composed specifically for her voice and violin, by a variety of well known contemporaries.
