Russian American musicologist, composer and conductor Nicolas Slonimsky talks by phone with KPFK Music Director David Cloud about the music and life of the "Russian Modern Romanticist", Dmitriĭ Shostakovich. This touching memorial to one of the great Russian composers of the 20th century was recorded on August 11, 1975, just days after the death of the Shostakovich.
