Rainbows was recorded on Thursday, May 25, 1981 in Colorado Springs. Notes on the tape box say it was featured in the July 1981 issue of Life Magazine. Notes on bowing techniques: Bowing of strings with nylon fish-line sprayed with resin; 8-12 strands fastened at both ends, and color coded tabs for each bow. Also played with popsicle sticks (for 8th notes); 50-75 strands of horsehair glued onto stick with foto-mount sticky foam. Of a 4-inch popsicle stick, the bottom 1" has these hairs attached.
