Description
A black and white, head and shoulders portrait of composer Alan Hovhaness and pianist Maro Ajemian, both seated and playing pianos. This may have been a rehearsal for an upcoming recital where Maro and Anahid Ajemian performed Hovhaness' "Shatakh" for the first time. It could also be a photograph in the studio where Maro Ajemian and Alan Hovhaness performed the latter’s composition “Mihr” for two pianos, subsequently released on the Disc label in 1947.
