In the 1970s KPFA was instrumental in presenting the first American broadcasts and performances of Gurubachan Singh Sachdev, the now legendary flutist from Chandigarth, India. This program includes an interview with this inspirational figure, recorded on May 7, 1990, in which he discusses his music and his life, as well as a number of his recordings, including Raga Hindole and Raga Bageshri.
