Description
From a program recorded in March of 1991, Seattle-based composer, vocalist, and performance artist Carolie Shoemaker, talks with Charles Amirkhanian about her work. One of the more innovative personalities on the new music scene, Shoemaker’s songs are in a similar style as other well known female composers such as Laurie Anderson and Amy X. Neuberg. Charles Amirkhanian interviews the visiting musician, who introduces selections from her work, including “Yo(u) Tarzan”, “Stitch in Time”, and “The Elephant’s Child” which is based on the children’s story by Rudyard Kipling.
