Description
The Ellis Rubber Stamp Co. was founded in 1929 by H.R. Ellis and his son, Walter, who continued to produce rubber stamps of over 1000 different visual designs, plus custom stamps for regular retail customers. Charles Amirkhanian, Ken Friedman and Carol Law have produced a series of graphic works exclusively utilizing rubber stamp images. In this program Charles talks with Walter Ellis and several of his employees at the Ellis Co. about how the rubber stamps are designed and manufactured, and the various unusual uses to which they are sometimes put.
