Description
Recorded on October 8, 1991 as part of the San Francisco Exploratorium’s Speaking of Music series, Charles Amirkhanian talks with David Byrne about his album, “Uh-Oh”, which was scheduled to be released four months after this recording. Bryne talks about the heavy Brazilian and Afro-Cuban influences he brought to the album. Listen to a number of recordings and videos of David's solo or collaborative work, along with a piece by another artist (Tom Zé). David also plays a couple of songs from “Uh-Oh” live. In the second half, David briefly discusses his early years and then takes a number of questions from the audience regarding art, politics, and personal motivation.
