Description
As part of the San Francisco Exploratorium’s Speaking of Music series, Charles Amirkhanian interviews one of the best known French sound poets, Bernard Heidsieck. In addition to reading some of his poetry he also plays a number of taped sound-text composition including six pieces from his series “Breaths and Brief Encounters” in which he combines his poetry with recordings of famous authors breathing. Heidsieck also talks about his life as the son of a famous champagne making family, his experiences during and directly after World War II, and his career as a banker.
