Charles Amirkhanian interviews composer Beth Anderson, and composer and conductor Victoria Bond about their upcoming participation in the 1974 Cabrillo Music Festival. Bond talks about the challenges facing women conductors in the classical music scene, as well as describing her piece “Caged” that was scheduled to be performed at the Festival. Anderson discusses her work “Joan” inspired by the story of Joan of Arc, and two other works that were also to be performed during the 1974 Cabrillo Music Festival.
