Description
A concert of Darius Milhaud’s music, given on April 26, 1971, on the occasion of the composer’s retirement from the Mills College faculty after 31 years. Jean-Louis LeRoux conducts the Mills Performing Group with soloists Madeleine Milhaud, Naomi Sparrow and Betty Woo. The first selection heard, “La muse ménagère”, was played as people were still entering the music hall and therefore there is a bit of crowd noise, and the actual performer is uncertain. However this is but a small distraction from what is otherwise a wonderful tribute to one of the great 20th century composers.
