Description
This four part program is of a live broadcast from a concert given at 1750 Arch Street on February 3, 1974, in honor of Gertrude Stein on the 100th anniversary of her birth. During the intermission and while the audience viewed the film "The Last Still Life" by Ann Sandifer, Charles Amirkhanian plays a recording of a Suite from Virgil Thomson's opera, "The Mother of Us All", based on a text by Gertrude Stein. The live concert then concludes with an additional work by Thomson and one by Charles Shere.
