Description
In a program recorded on Oct. 14, 1970, Charles Amirkhanian interviews artist Dennis Oppenheim and Director of the Museum of Conceptual Art, Tom Marioni, about a then upcoming show at the Museum. However, as is typical with events sponsored by the Museum of Conceptual Art, the show was not happening in the Museum, per se, but rather would entail a number of videos of works to be shown at a bar across the street. The show which was titled “Body Works” was to include a number of pieces by conceptual artists in which the human body was exposed and explored. The conversation then takes a more esoteric turn as the three discuss the nature of “process art” and the difference, if any, between a photograph as a piece of information in a magazine and a photograph as an artwork hung in a museum.Genres
