Description
This is a wonderful work of meditative, electro-acoustic, music that incorporates the sounds of a droning sitar-like instrument layered with a softly playing piano and/or electronic keyboard, mixed with New Age electronic sounds. Tentatively identified as “Night Music,” the work is thought to have been composed by the Berkeley, California, based William Maraldo, who produced a number of similar Eastern music oriented tape pieces, including the soundtrack to John Schofill’s experimental 1968 movie, “XFilm.” Maraldo was co-director of the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College during the late 1960’s.
