Description
Recorded on May 16, 1971 at Hertz Hall on the campus of the University of California at Berkeley, pianist Bernhard Abramowitsch performs Beethoven’s “Sonata in B-Flat Major, Op. 110.” Originally a native of Germany, Abramowitsch, at the time of this recording, was a teacher at Mills College and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as a lecturer at U. C. Berkeley. However he is best known as a concert pianist who toured widely in Europe and the United States, and who was as comfortable playing the works of contemporary composer as he was with the more established traditional repertoire heard here.
