On October 10, 1971, from about 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Charles Amirkhanian recorded the sparrows in two redwood trees located near the house at 1644 Curtis Street in Berkeley, California. Neighborhood children, cars, motorcycles, and curious passerby's form portions of the sonic scenario.
