Description
The very first Composer-to-Composer Festival, which described itself as "A major new international gathering of composers for discussions, demonstrations, and performances of work and work-in-progress. Co-founded and directed by composers John Lifton and Charles Amirkhanian, the first of four festivals commenced with an impressive roster of international artists: 

(Great Britain) Brian Eno , (US) Virko Baley, Paul De Marinis, Kyle Gann, Lou Harrison, Terry Riley, Stephen Scott, Laurie Spiegel, (Australia) Sarah Hopkins, Vincent Plush, Peter Sculthorpe, (West Germany) Denys Bouliane, (Estonia S.S.R.) Lepo Sumera.

The gathering included several days of private discussions before three days of public concerts which were held August 19-21, 1988 in the mountain town of Telluride, Colorado, at the historic Sheridan Opera House.
