Christoph Schreiner (Dept. of Otolaryngology at UCSF) explains the binaural recording process being used to capture the event. Goodkind then introduces B.A.N.G, Bay Area New Gamelan, and its director Jody Diamond. Diamond talks about the instruments within the group, modeled after Indonesian gamelan. Examples of the instrument sounds are given by the players.
